The past two weeks we have strictly worked on our presentation. Everyone has something different to do. Josie is in charge of getting the power point presentation together. Ethan is getting a blueprint of our sketch so we have something to present. Aj is in charge of getting the finishing touches of the design put together. Savannah is in charge of finding the flowers, along with Emily. Desiree is in charge of the signs. Josh is waiting patiently to put the whole enclosure together, for now he thinking of some more ideas for the bird cages. Blake is also in charge of the signs, and the bird cages. And I am looking for flowers, and thinking of some ideas for the bird cages.
For our cage designs we came up with: p gravel, some flowers to make it look nicer, small trees, the birds habitat, tree stumps, and perches. We would like to put an open area on top of the bird cage, so the bird and be free to fly and the visitors and see it flying in the air, and we would have a chain hook to its leg so it can not fly away.
We narrowed down the birds that we are going to choose: Eastern Screech Owl, American Kestral, Burrowing Owl, Golden Eagle, Crested Caracara, Snowy Owl, and Peregrine Falcon.
I think that the hard work we put into the project is going to pay off.
Chumbley's Group Report:
The final planning stage for the aviary project took place in Mr. Chumbley's room with only our group which happened in the last two weeks.
The first week consisted of getting into more detail of out plans and we got into smaller groups with their own roles like design, signage, and the bird enclosure.
The second week involved the final detail and how we are going to put it together and present it.
Hancock's Group Report:
Rachel made a powerpoint for the presentation. It looks so good. It goes in order of what is going to be talked about.
I think that with the idea of them being able to see our drawings (thanks to Ms. Hancock for scanning them in) they will be able to understand our ideas better. Carly will be starting us off in our presentation, then Nick, Rachel, Mark, and Logan will talk about birdies. Daphnee and I will then talk about the signs that we have made. Last will be Callie and Josh for the design of the cages. The aviary needs to be fun to go through. We think our group will make it fun!
Let's get er done. hehehehe... >:)
Gianessi's Group Report:
This week Joseph worked on the development of the cages and a 3D layout of the aviary area. Trevor worked some more on his sign which he finished; Austin worked on a Power Point presentation to give to the Park.
